عنوان فارسی تأملی بر حیات و اقدامات سرلشکر محمدولی قرنی با تکیه‌بر کودتای منتسب به او
چکیده فارسی مقاله تاریخ معاصر ایران به­ویژه در دورۀ پهلوی عرصۀ کنشگری رجال سیاسی و نظامی بوده است و لذا برای تبیین و تحلیل تحولات این دوره، شناخت نقش و عملکرد این رجال امری ضروری به شمار می­رود. سرلشکر قرنی ازجملۀ شخصیت­های مهم و چالش­برانگیز در میان نظامیان می­باشد که در ارتش به فعالیت پرداخت و بعد از کودتای 28 مرداد، مدارج ترقی در عرصۀ نظامی را طی کرد. در نیمۀ دوم دهۀ 1330 ش. بنای کودتایی علیه محمدرضاشاه گذاشته شد که سرلشکر قرنی هم به شرکت در آن متهم شد. بررسی حیات و اقدامات قرنی در این رخداد، مسئلۀ نوشتار حاضر است. این مقاله با روش توصیفی – تحلیلی و تکیه‌بر اسناد و منابع کتابخانه­ای و مصاحبه، درصدد پاسخ دادن به این پرسش بوده که نقش و جایگاه محمد ولی قرنی در نقشۀ کودتای ضد پهلوی دوم چه بود؟ یافته­ها نشان می­دهد که اگرچه قرنی پیش از کشف نقشۀ کودتا، با مخالفان شاه، ارتباط برقرار کرده و از فساد و ناکارآمدی موجود در ارکان سیاسی و نظامی رژیم پهلوی گله­مند بود، اما تنها رهبر و رئیس مخالفان به­شمار نمی­رفت و او قربانی دسیسه­گری و رقابت کشندۀ رجال سیاسی و نظامی با یکدیگر و تلاش برای نزدیکی به شاه گردید که در دهۀ 1330 ش. افزایش چشمگیری یافته بود.

عنوان انگلیسی A reflection on the life and actions of Major General Mohammad vali Qarani based on the coup attributed to him
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Contemporary history of Iran, especially during  the Pahlavi period, has been the field of activity of political and military men.Therefore to explain and analyze the developments of this period, it is necessary to know the role and performance of these men.Major General Qarani is one of the most important and challenging figures in the military who served in the army and after the coup of August 28, he obtained high military ranks.In the second half of 1330 SH decade a coup was hatched against Mohammad Reza Shah, in which Major General Qarani was also accused of participating.The study of the life and actions of Qarani in this event is the subject of the present paper.This article, using a descriptive-analytical method and relying on library documents and resources and interviews, seeks to answer this question: what was the role and position of Mohammad vali Qarani in the plan of the second anti-Pahlavi coup?The findings show that although Qarani had been in contact with the king's opponents before the coup plot had been discovered and he was complaining the corruption and inefficiency in the political and military elements of the Pahlavi regime, he was not the only leader of opponents and was a victim of killing conspiracy and rivalry of political and military men who tried to get closer to the king, an strategy  which  had dominated in 1330s dramatically.
