With the advancement of technology, the expansion of cyberspace,the Internet and the transformation of social conditions, terrorism hasbecome an international phenomenon today, endangering international,national and human security. Each country uses different methods tocreate peace and fight against terrorism. And usually the police forceis the first layer and the strategy to combat terrorist attacks. Therefore,the present study was conducted to investigate the role of the IRGCin counteracting terrorism. The research methodology in this analyticalresearch is descriptive, and by collecting information from books, articlesand scientific sites, the role of police in pre-empting and combatingterrorism has been explained. Finally, we conclude that the police, as aforce for maintaining peace and security, based on a community-basedpolicing approach, and by studying the history of terrorist activities, theuse of public and specialized counter-terrorism strategies, the use of thecapabilities of their specialized police, including: Interpol, FATA Police,Information Police, Border Police, Special Units and Political ConsultativeOrganizations, each of which have the expertise necessary to preventand combat terrorism, and in the future of terrorism and anti-terrorismmethods they will play an effective role in countering terrorism |
