Purpose and background: Designing a model to identify and prioritize the characteristics of proactive managers, in order to distinguish them from non-proactive and decide about putting these types of managers in critical jobs, is especially important for all organizations. The research propose is identification and prioritization the characteristics of proactive managers in Law Enforcement Force. Method: This research in terms of purpose is developmental, In terms of the nature is descriptive and a survey inquiry and in terms of time is cross-sectional. A closed questionnaire was used to collect data. Statistical population it includes all police officers and deputies in Gilan province data were collected from 132 individuals by random cluster sampling. Validity of the questionnaire was verified through interviews with academic and professional experts and also was used the construct validity. Results: The findings of the first order factor analysis confirms all the indicators considered for the components and the results of the second order factor analysis also show that there is a significant relationship between knowledge, ability and skill with the characteristics of the proactive managers. Also at the upper level there is a significant relationship between the proactive personality features and the inner motive with characteristics of proactive Managers. Conclusion: In this research, the proactive personality, internal motivation, knowledge, skills and ability along with 29 indicators were identified as attributes of the proactive managers. Indicators identified for the protagonist are: Extroversion, conscientiousness, having an open, mind, internal control power, risk-taking, decisiveness, consultation, patience, having the discipline, criticism, positive Thinking, flexibility, reconciliation, optimism, loyalty and pragmatism. Indicators of internal motivation include: motivation for progress, self-actualization, self-efficacy, interest in work. Also, knowledge, skills and ability indicators include: having professional and environmental knowledge, organizational and communication skills, intelligence, emotional intelligence, mental imagery ability. |
