عنوان انگلیسی The Effect and Implications of GPS on Coach Fleet Drivers & Chief Police Officers (Case Study of Tehran-Shiraz Route
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Nowadays in developed countries new technologies, namely GPS have many applications in military, business, marine, aerial and navigational system. In road transportation, GPS has been applied for fleet cars and transportation and guidance of vehicles and locating the exact position of cars. Global positioning system is not of much use alone and should be applied and incorporated alongside with other communicating devices. In transportation system, GPS has been used in two ways, online and offline. GPS has been used among governmental organizations, especially in police force. In this paper the researcher has been carried out on the effect of offline GPS on buses which is currently being used by police force in the Iran. The main emphasis on the research work was to evaluate the effect of offline and online GPS used by police for law enforcement. The methodology of research was based on the questioners, the before and after studies data collected and analyzed. The results show that the application of GPS can have great effect on the control of speeding motorist leading to reduction of accidents and fatalities.
